Veterinary Equine Chiropractic in Orlando

Orlando Horse Chiropractor

I feel compelled to state that if you are searching for someone to perform chiropractic treatment for your horse in Orlando that you find a professional 1) who is a licensed equine veterinarian and 2) who is also a certified equine chiropractor. At the bare minimum you should seek someone who a horse chiropractor who has taken classes at least certified in veterinary chiropractic from an accredited veterinary chiropractic school.

I say this because I principally believe that someone working on your horse should have a complete knowledge all of the body systems of the animal and to be able to view all of the systems together as a whole. Just being a human chiropractor does not give any background of the immensely complex body system of the horse (such as the digestive system, circulatory system, respiratory system, neurologic system, Muscular system, etc.) nor does it give her any widespread training in lameness examination or the multitudes of things that can cause lameness or other disease in horses.

That being said someone who does not properly diagnose illnesses such as laminitis (founder) or other very serious diseases, in which it takes a properly trained veterinarian to diagnose, could ultimately lead to a more serious problem if not diagnosed early on.

I am a veterinarian and I have studied veterinary and equine spinal manipulation (a.k.a. equine chiropractic) and have received my veterinary chiropractic certification from The Healing Oasis Wellness Center in Wisconsin. This is the only nationally accredited institution providing programs in integrative veterinary chiropractic.

Dr. ChichraThe horse chiropractic or spinal manipulation that I practice is based entirely on functional neurology. I have also finished courses and have attended conferences specifically aimed to increase my knowledge of the neurologic system and to further my education as a veterinary chiropractor.

The nervous system is the MASTER system of the entire body! It controls all of the muscles, organs and senses and assists the brain to comprehend where the body is in time and space. This enables the body to react with appropriate equilibrium and movement.

The nervous system also provides communication between the organs and the brain, keeping the heart and lungs, digestive and detoxification, reproductive and endocrine systems working in balance.

The wellbeing of the nervous system depends on diet and nutrition, oxygen and mainly…… the quantity and quality of information it obtains from receptors positioned all throughout the body. If anything in this system is in conflict it can cause a domino effect throughout the body and that is why it is crucial that the body and nervous system returns to a harmonious state.

Chiropractic treatment is receptor based and focuses on returning areas of the nervous system which have become dysfunctional because of trauma, stress, posture, diet, etc.

Therapy is performed very specifically and only after a complete equine physical, neurologic and lameness examinations have been completed which can ONLY be performed by a licensed professional veterinarian.
